Cassegrains Little Tuscany. It is not often that a proud French family would sing the praises of an Italian variety, but in this case we just had to.
Sangiovese is typically a medium to full bodied wine that appeals to many. Dark cherries, plums and just ripe mulberries are characteristic and backed by secondary notes of dried herbs and rose petal.
Sangiovese comes into its own when matched with food. The bitey acidity of Sangiovese goes particularly well with tomato based Italian dishes like pizza and pasta, but the savoury notes and grippy tannins pair well with roasted, grilled and barbecued meats. Set the table and enjoy.
