2018 Edition Noir Chambourcin
Commanding attention in every aspect with lifted savoury fruit with hints of plum and cherry. Well balanced
medium bodied wine with a lifted vibrant lingering finish.
One of the most puzzling wines in our cellar door for most visitors is Chambourcin. Most who visit have never tried one – and many who have swear that they’ve not had a good one. That perspective usually shifts afterwards. As you may be aware – Cassegrain is the home of Chambourcin in Australia - being the first Winery to make this variety commercially available. Since then we have been well renowned for this variety. Notes of cranberry and raspberry sing alongside defined tannins in this medium-bodied wine. Think of your more gamey cuts of meat or rich lamb dish to accompany a glass of Chambourcin. Autumn veggies surrounding a lamb roast and you’re on the right track!
If you’ve not tried Chambourcin before – don’t be weary of it. Give it a go and you’ll be well rewarded by its unique personality.
