Port Macquarie Knows Art
In its 4th year of operation – albeit being slightly derailed by COVID – the Port Macquarie Hastings Council have decided to pull together ArtWalk 2020 an incredible line-up of COVID-safe activities – all in the name of art. If you are a Port Macquarie local or a very-welcome guest to our region these upcoming September / October school holidays then you are in for a feast of artistic inspiration!
Cassegrain is proud to be involved – hosting five ‘Satellite Events’ right here at the winery. Of course, we are taking the liberty in sharing our art – in the form of liquid art all of which have taken months and years to create. Each event will feature the opportunity to try some unique wines, whilst indulging in creative expansion. Partnering with Paint Your Town and Arthouse Industries – these artists will take attendees on a variety of creative journeys, teaching and guiding you through memorable experiences all within the comfort and luxury of our private experience room at Cassegrain – the Vin de Salle.
ArtWalk in the Port Macquarie CBD
Running from the 1st of October to the 8th of October there is plenty to see and experience. The main event of the program will be based in town – around 12-15 minutes drive from the winery. Each day and night there are hosted exhibitions and art showcased in shopfronts all over town. Not forgetting our other town-centres – Wauchope and Laurieton will also be showcasing art day and night throughout the week. For those visiting, you can literally stay anywhere in town and be less than 10-15 minutes away from some memorable experiences for those interested in a variety of art forms.

Paint n Sip at Cassegrain Winery
October 4th, 6pm – $65pp and bookings essential.
Run by Paint Your Town
Paint, sip and enjoy cheese + crostini’s + wine with Paint Your Town at Cassegrain.
Each guest will receive a wine bottle with a blank label and we will conceptually walk you through the process for designing your own label! This will be accompanied by a short talk on wine labelling, what stands out on shelves and how Cassegrain are aiming to evolve their brand.
Making a Resin Cheese Board
October 6th, 2pm – $65pp and bookings essential.
Run by Arthouse Industries
‘Making a Resin Cheese Board’ is a very popular class and is awesome as an introduction to using resin.Fun, fast and affordable, it’s a fantastic night out with a group or an excellent excuse to meet new people and create something.
Learn how to mix, colour and pour resin to create a resin decorated cheese board that you can keep or gift! All the wine, enjoy and sip on Cassegrain wines and let the creativity flow!
Alcohol Ink Art Class
October 6th, 6pm – $65pp and bookings essential.
Run by Arthouse Industries
This class is all about learning the techniques to work with alcohol inks. This amazing medium can be used on many surfaces and creates dreamy effects, but during this class, you’ll be designing your own wine label!
Each student will go home with a bottle of wine labelled purely with your creative flair (and filled with delicious Cassegrain wine) and the techniques to keep creating at home.
Small Resin Tray Class

Resin Jewellery Making Class

In this class you’ll learn the skills required to make beautiful and unique resin jewellery. The best way to add some new accessories to your jewellery collection is to make it yourself! Enjoy an evening out suitable for beginners to experts.
This class includes all materials and wines for the afternoon! If you want, come early to our cellar door for a tasting, purchase some of the great small treats from twotriplefour and purchase some wines before the event! Get to know our wines via our online shop!
ArtWalk 2020
In a year that we’ve had so much uncertainty and negativity, we’re grateful for the hard work of staff to put this event on. Here’s to hoping that in a few weeks we are inspired, pleasantly distracted and thoroughly stocked with new art (and wine)! We’re grateful for the COVID-safe atmosphere that’s being ensured and we ask that all those attending the event maintain social distancing protocols and where possible, please wear a mask. Here at Cassegrain, we do use Guest HQ to log everyone in that is visiting. If you have had any cold or flu-like symptoms we ask that you please refrain from visiting the winery, but otherwise you are more than welcome!
