2007 Vintage
The 2007 vintage
started 2 weeks earlier than in previous years due mainly to the
drought and warm weather. Thus far, yields are significantly lower
but the quality of the fruit has been exceptional.
Diversity of regions
will stamp the 2007 Cassegrain vintage apart from preceding years.
Fruit has been sourced from Hastings Valley, Northern Slopes,
Granite Belt, Hunter Valley, Tumbarumba, Orange, Mudgee and Coonawarra.
This will give an unprecedented depth of quality for all you lucky
club members to enjoy.
Some of the stand
out wines to date are the Semillon off our own vineyard which
is the best Semillon I have seen come through the winery and the
2007 Durif promises to be another cracker!
Long hours and
little sleep are part of the job description for any winery worker
during vintage time. I would like to take this opportunity to
thank all the members of my team for all their hard work and diligence.
I am sure their efforts during this busy time will deliver an
excellent finished product that we can all enjoy!
