John Cassegrain welcomes Michelle Heagney

Cassegrain Wines Appoints New Senior Winemaker

John Cassegrain, chief winemaker of Cassegrain Wines, is pleased to announce the appointment of his new senior winemaker, Michelle Heagney.

Michelle brings an extensive and impressive experience to Cassegrain Wines, having completed 12 vintages and helped produce wines for some of Australia’s well-known wineries such as Rosemount and Penfold’s. Michelle is returning from South Australia to New South Wales with her young family in order to be closer to her family origins of Armidale. Ms Heagney states, “I am thrilled to have been offered this opportunity to work with John Cassegrain at this world-class winery, not to mention the prospect of living in beautiful Port Macquarie”.

John Cassegrain is delighted with Michelle’s engagement at the winery. “Michelle’s broad experience and winemaking skills coupled with her dynamism will suit us very well here at Cassegrain,” says John. The rest of the winemaking team, says John, is very much looking forward to working with Ms Heagney to continue producing premium wines together.

A graduate of wine science and rural science, Michelle believes it is her attention to detail and her passion that drives her success in winemaking. John Cassegrain also believes these attributes will greatly enhance his winemaking team.
