Premium Chardonnay

Cassegrain’s Success North of the Border

Cassegrain Wines has performed exceptionally well at the Brisbane Wine Festival held at the end of June. The 2008 Cassegrain (Premium) Chardonnay has taken out the Trophy for best Chardonnay in show and was voted the number one white wine in the “What Women Want” category.

The Chardonnay category was the most heavily contested with the highest number of entries. Wines were submitted from all major Australian wine regions renowned for Chardonnay including Margaret River, Tamar Valley Tasmania, Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, Adelaide Hills and other NSW regions.

Other wines in the Cassegrain range to be awarded with bronze medals are the 2006 and 2008 Reserve Fromenteau, the 2007 Edition Noir Hunter Valley Shiraz and the 2007 Stone Circle Shiraz Viognier.

John Cassegrain is delighted with the success of our wines at this well-respected festival. “We feel very pleased to receive this recognition from our peers and even more pleased with the great feedback we received from the general public at the tastings.”

Steve Foye, Cassegrain Wines’ National Sales Manager said, “The festival was an enormous success for Cassegrain Wines. The response we received from the wine-tasting public was very positive. Of particular note, our new release 2009 Semillon and 2009 Verdelho were very well received.”

The accolades received at the Brisbane Wine Festival will assist Cassegrain to gain inroads into the growing Queensland wine market.
